Silly Bandz
Dear Carolyn,
OK, first of all, please don’t do that anymore. I now have that dumb Johnny Cash song in my head and Mike has a smile on his face. He loves that guy just to irritate me. Obviously I’m not a fan. I mean, he’s quite depressing, with the all black get-up and sad songs about killing a man, just to watch him die… maybe I’m too colorful. I’m so glad the camping trip went well, though. Sounds like a great place you found.
While you were camping, let’s see…I got the oil changed in my mini (van, not cooper:) I was about 10th in line so the lady at the desk told me it would be an hour and a half. The kids and I walked to the Golden Arches for some playtime and ice cream.Trying to keep the baby off the germland playland gave me enough gray hairs to justify a brand new box of Clariol rinse at Target. I got back in an hour and a half only to wait outside for another half while they finished it up speedy quick.
Later, when I was buying a birthday gift at the cool toy store here, I FOUND THE SILLY BANDZ like you had told me about. I am proud to say that my daughters will be the trend setters of Alaska. I was only the second person to ask for those wonderfully shaped rubber bands. Apparently we’re a little slow on the uptake of fashion. I was thrilled to find the two varieties they had in stock. So I get home, and alas, Abby had received a package from Adelyn of you guessed it, Silly Bandz. It’s mania around here. Planning of which friend gets which bracelet, etc. I just love the little card Adelyn made her and how she sent a few for Lilly too. It all makes me smile! Then a friend told me that some schools are banning them they’re such a distraction.
I think I’m promoting contraband with those silly bandz, but that’s neither here nor there!

Todd’s parents gave Libby Silly Bandz for her birthday in May-I had never heard of them til then. But Todd’s cousin and his wife, both of whom are teachers, were here, and were commenting on what a craze they are. And how distracting they are. Then I heard on the news about concerns from a doctor about all the bands cutting off circulation! And around here, our big concern is the babies getting them and putting them in their mouths. So, all that said, we’ve got some bandz we’d be happy to share!
