It's Neither Here Nor There

A blog about two friends far apart yet close at heart.

Are you alive?

July31

Dear Carolyn,

I must say it’s been really weird not talking on the phone to you for weeks on end. I can’t believe it. But what would we talk about? It’s funny that I’m saying all the things I would tell you on the phone. Well mostly. Except for all the times I ask for parenting advice. I need some now but it will wait. I know we agreed to not make this blog about the kids, but here goes. My girls are fighting like crazy. I seriously tried tying them together like your favorite Creative Correction book suggested. It totally backfired. I would have loved for it to turn out with us all laughing uproariously and having totally forgotten what all the fuss was about to begin with. But no, Lilly completely lost it. She didn’t get it. Maybe she’s not old enough. Tomorrow if (when) they start fighting I’m totally doing that one that you read to me about giving them each a cleaning cloth and putting them on opposite sides of the same window. I bet it will work and before I know it they’ll be laughing. Who knows? It can’t hurt to try.

It’s 2 am and I can’t sleep. I drank 2 Coca Colas tonight and I’m afraid they’ve done me in. I need an Alka Seltzer, my next favorite drink behind Coca Cola. I will definitely regret those Cokes tomorrow.

The yard is coming along nicely. We’re starting to see some green sprigs growing. If only we would have a few more sunny days there would be more sprigs. They look  neon to the eye that’s only seen brown ground and gray rocks for months. It’s really weird. Here’s a couple of pictures of the kids when we got the topsoil. They’re too good to not share. They had a blast. Notice the dirt around the mouth. My mom said kids get worms by eating dirt, but that’s neither here nor there. I love capturing all the giggles!

Well, I hope you’re having fun with all your galavanting around. Do write when you get home!

Happy travels,

Kristy

And here I am coincidentally, also at 2am, reading your blog! I have Kristy-radar. 2 diet cherry cokes at dinner for me. UGH!!! Cute pictures! And I am totally going to try the window washing idea, too. I tried making my boys hug each other until they smiled and said sorry. Ha. It got worse before it got better. The laughter at the end didn’t mean as much after they pummeled and pounded on each other to get to that point. At least I’ll get clean windows out of Carolyn’s method. ;) G’night- hope we can sleep soon…
