Charming It Up

July11

Dear Kristy,

This week should be interesting. Adelyn and I are hosting a Christian Charm Course at our church for girls 8-12 years old. We are actually using a book I used when I was young. It was a Christian Charm Course offered through 4H. The book is called Christian Charm Course by Emily Hunter. Don’t know how much I learned but I do remember getting to walk around in high heels and learning how to use a curling iron. When Jeff and I were first married we lived in Garland, Tx. Jeff was on staff there at First Baptist Church. I remember using the same book then offering the Charm Course to the girls in the youth group. So it is kind of neat to think I get to go through this book with my own daughter. How time flies.

Some of the topics are posture, hair, hands, face, diet and exercise, fashion and etiquette. There are different moms/ladies from our church that discuss each topic. The class is every afternoon this week. I have come up with a small token of the class to give them each day. I think I am more excited about it all than Adelyn. Once the class starts things might change though. There are 12 girls signed up including two girls from our neighborhood. Things should be fun and just maybe we all will learn some charm too!!

I am anxious to see more photos of your ‘yard’. So get busy!! Crazy to think you will be playing in dirt this week while I will be teaching girls charm. How opposite, but that’s neither here nor there!

Charming it up,
Carolyn

The class was very effective tonight. After it was over, Sam, Adelyn and I went to eat at the Chinese buffet, and Adelyn succeeded in passing gas in the car on the way home and in trying to suck her jello through a straw at the restaurant.
